About

Self PortraitHi. I’m Edge, and I’m the person responsible for the rantings, musings, and other mentally challenged scribbles camouflaged as coherent thoughts here. I’m a technical writer and voice actor at present, but my past jobs include U.S. Marine, military policeman, traffic accident investigator, retail salesman and manager, programmer, software engineer, support engineer, trainer/instructor, training developer, on-air radio DJ, network administrator, security officer, and the list could go on (but I thought I’d list some of the more interesting ones). I’m the father of two incredible, smart, and beautiful kids, and I am married to the love of my life and my best friend, Sherry. I can’t guarantee you’ll agree with everything here, but what I write comes from the heart, and is more-or-less the truth as I know it (from my point of view, at least).

Some random facts about me:

  • I’m a first-generation American of Hungarian descent (both parents were born in Europe).
  • I speak English and Hungarian fluently.
  • I play saxophone and bass guitar.
  • I was a U.S. Marine for 12 years (Military Policeman, Accident Investigator, and OJT On-Air Radio DJ for the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service).
  • I am a writer of bad poetry and stories of questionable quality who is currently writing a murder-mystery novel.
  • I watched an airplane crash in front of me with a camera in my hand and didn’t take a single photo.
  • Some interesting people I’ve met (not just a quick greeting, but actually got to sit down with and talk for some period of time beyond, “My name is Edge”): Jesse Owens, Byron Nelson, Robert Stack, Courtney Love, Melissa Auf Der Mar, Beck, Perry Farrell, Soleil Moonfrye, Bobcat Goldthwait, Laura Veirs, Matt Sharp, and I’ve had the chance to hang out and talk with the bands The Lovely Feathers, Elastica, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Rentals, and Sonic Youth.
  • Speaking of people I’ve met, I massaged Courtney Love’s feet (and didn’t catch anything).
  • I have been flying RC aircraft for over 27 years.
  • My blog served as my therapist during a rough divorce.

So sit down and read some Burnerblog entries, if you dare. Like I said, they may not make any sense, and you may not agree with everything here, but the thoughts laboriously put into bits and bytes here are all mine. If anything, respect that.
