wutdaeff.com

May 2, 2008

I bought it. The domain. wutdaeff.com.

Why? Why not is more the right answer. I just thought it’d be a great domain for email and perhaps another pet project of mine.

More for the email address.

THAT is just bad-ass, IMO.

Goodbye Brianna Grant

June 15, 2007

I like to think I’m a sensitive guy, but not as much as Stevie (who self-admittedly cries at the sight of a Wienerschnitzel). However, after reading about Brianna Grant and her illness, I was brought to tears. She was an intelligent, talented, and beautiful young girl who passed away after a long fight with complications from a bone marrow transplant.

I hope that her family can find some peace in this time of great sadness.

Britney Worried About Topless Photos?

May 4, 2007

Britney Spears Furious Over Leaked Topless Photos

Britney SpearsComeback singer Britney Spears
is reportedly furious after topless pictures of her have been leaked
online. In the saucy shots, a grinning Spears poses outside, kneeling
on a rock, while holding two flowers over her nipples.

And the singer
is furious about the timing of the pictures - she has just embarked on
a comeback trail, performing live in a series of comeback gigs this
week in California.

A close pal of the singer tells
British newspaper The Daily Star, “Britney’s furious these photos have
become public. She never dreamed they’d be leaked. She’s concerned the
photos will damage her credibility and just make her look trashy.

“She’s concentrating on her career and this draws the focus from her music.”

Oh really? So, those photos of her bare crotch were okay, but show the boobies and your credibility is shot? LOL! I think that ship has sailed a long time ago Brit.

Stuff

April 24, 2007

I’ve got so much to say, yet not the words to say it.

The rundown: Work has been busy. My personal writing has been coming along okay. The kids are doing well in school. We put in a wood floor with the gracious and unselfish help of my best friends Steve and Lawrence, and Sherry and I painted about 1/3 of the entire inside of the house. I’ve been doing a lot more online racing (www.asrl.us) and a lot more flying of my radio controlled airplanes.

The news disgusts me on a daily basis, and watching it does nothing more than depress me. I found out recently that a friend from high school who was serving in Iraq had an IED blow up next to him. He’s okay, but it was a close call. And oh by the way, it happened the day before he left to come home for 10 days of leave. I also found out today that a girl I went to HS with is in the news locally for doing some pretty terrible things to her kids. Another friend from HS died a few months back from complications of a work-related injury he sustained a few years back.

Anyway… doing the best we can. I just need to finish a current project at work so that I can return to working on my “normal” project that I love. I hope I can muster the motivation to do so later today.

So, that’s the short of it for now. As for what I’m listening to these days, here’s a chart for you.

Ciao!

So much to write…

April 2, 2007

So much to say… but first, how ’bout an embedded player for Edge Radio?

Well, March saw us going to Las Vegas for Shacko’s wedding! We had a great time, and the visiting with Steve and his wonderful wife, friend Amy, and “Big Steve” and his girlfriend was definitely the highlight of the trip. Yes, it was THAT fun! We did win money at Blackjack, saw a show (Zumanity), and had some In-N-Out Burgers and Del Taco soft tacos!

There’s always so much I want to say here, but I refrain lately. Why? I don’t know… but it mainly comes from the lack of time I have to post entries. This weekend, for example, I was still recovering from a one-week bout with a very virulent virus that also had Gelli out of school for three days. It’s questionable as to whether she will even go back tomorrow. Anyway, I was out in the yard helping to get it looking nice (where in the heck is my yard guy?!?!?!) and helped Sherry with the painting inside the house when I could. I was still feeling very weak and was prone to coughing bouts, but at least I could do what I did here and there.

Politics? Bah. Boring. World events? Bah. Scary. Personal life? Busy… and that’s fine with me. It’s been busy with friends and family, and that’s just the way I like it to be. So kick back, listen to some of the stuff I enjoy, and go browse a site that’s really worth reading!

The President of the USA in 2009 will be…

February 8, 2007

… Rudy Giuliani. Sure, he’s got a few skeletons in his closet, but nothing like Hilary’s graveyard. Obama? He’s a rookie Senator, and using the Democrats’ own argument, the Republicans say that he lacks “gravitas,” something the Dems tried with Gore in 2000. Boy, wasn’t that a fun time?

Anyway, Chris Matthews of MSNBC dropped the “f-bomb” on TV and radio recently and explains why Giuliani is a good choice. My only contention is that he says, “We love good mayors because we love our cities and Giuliani’s the city guy.” Hmmm… Then Matthews went on to say, “I’m so sick of Southern guys
with ranches running this country. I want a guy to run for president
who doesn have a [bleeping] — I’m sorry — a ranch. Wouldn’t that be
good, a guy who wasn’t on the ranch during Katrina, he [Giuliani] was
on the street corner answering questions [during 9/11].” While the Federal Government’s response to Katrina sucked, I think it’s funny that where the President was during Katrina is such a point of contention. I guess GW should have relocated his office to Canal street while there was no electricity and fresh water to show that he is more “of the people.” Had he done that, we would now be saying how he was posturing and posing, etc, etc.

Anyway, at this point, 21 months ahead of the next Presidential Election, I think that Giuliani is the front-runner, and has the best chance. It’s his to lose. Personally, I’d like to see McCain get it, as he’s more moderate and not among the in-crowd on the Hill. He’s also got a great sense of humor, and I think our politicians (especially our Presidents) need a good sense of humor when dealing with some of the other world “leaders.”

What’s good for the goose…

February 8, 2007

…is not good for the gander if you’re a member of the newly-elected Democratic majority in Congress. If your spending habits are brought into question, especially because you’re using aircraft paid by the taxpayers to go home across the country with your entourage, perhaps the best defense is to say, “It’s politically motivated.” So I guess you can throw all the stones you want if you’re a Democrat, but don’t throw any back if you’re a Republican?

Oh, and this works both ways, folks. I’m sick and tired of Republicans saying that every attack is politically motivated. Newsflash: HELLO! ALL POLITICAL ATTACKS AGAINST POLITICIANS BY OTHER POLITICIANS OR POLITICAL PARTIES ARE (you guessed it) POLITICALLY MOTIVATED.

DORKS.

You’d think they’d have understood the rules of the game by now.

Happy Birthday, Pops

January 29, 2007

Today would have been the 68th birthday of my dad. If he were here, tonight would have been a lot of fun with us going to eat his favorite food, Mexican. He’d have a few margaritas, we’d laugh a lot, and end up going home to his place to play some computer golf or just chat about whatever we felt like chatting about.

I miss all that with my dad. It hurts so badly that I don’t get to spend time with him anymore, to share jokes with him anymore… or to just be in his presence. He was such an awesome guy… or as I told him on the last day I saw him face-to-face, a “helluva guy.”

I miss you, Pops, with every fiber of my being, and every atom of my soul. I wish you a Happy Birthday, Pops. I just wish you could spend it here with me.

Still Kicking

January 22, 2007

Now I’ve gone and done it. I’ve started writing a screenplay. It’s something I said that I wouldn’t do because I so disliked the format… so what do I do? I sat down and started writing… and writing… and writing. The more I wrote, the more wanted to come out of my fingers. It was fun… and rewarding. Watching my wife and friends read it and laughing their heads off at least a few times on each page was even more rewarding and actually quite motivating. I want to do more of that.

So… what am I writing? All in due time, chillins… all in due time. I will say, however, that it’s comedy, and that it incorporates technology, Gen-X/Y culture, and friendships/relationships. It’s being developed right now as a TV series, but could easily be adapted into a movie script.

I have a few tenuous contacts on the West Coast I’ll be hitting up when I get something that “my people” feel is a final product. I’m trying to do my best to work on this a little every day. I don’t want this to languish and die. I’ve done a few other projects that I got disenchanted with or put on the back-back-back burner, but this one has got to get off the ground. It’s too funny to stay on paper alone (at least in my opinion).

AT&T Predictions in 1993

January 9, 2007

It’s amazing the things we live with today that were “coming in the future” in 1993. We have come a long way… and while not every thing in the video was exactly 100% spot-on, it’s pretty close. The GPS in the car, the flat-screen TV, the on-demand video, going through toll booths without stopping… all of these are every-day facts of life in 2007, but in 1993? The closest you could get was “You Will.”
